Featurettes Are Being Relocated

What’s Happening:

We are relocating all Featurettes.

How will this impact me?

ALL featurettes will now be located at Bucknell University > Pages > Featurettes. You will see two folders in this new area: “Created for Campus Use” and “Created by Individual Departments”.

Created for Campus Use refers to generic featurettes that anyone can place on any page. These featurettes consists of a picture, a basic department description, and a link to the department website. They are currently stored at Bucknell University > Components > Featurettes. Campus Use featurettes are a way for you to link to related departments and spotlight campus events, alumni profiles, etc.

Created by Individual Departments refers to featurettes created and maintained by each department/area. Departments are given permission to create and store their own featurettes after attending “Working with Featurette” training. Currently all department-specific featurettes are located inside a “Featurettes” folder in each department folder.

Why are the Featurettes moving?

First, we want to encourage placement of the Campus Use featurettes by making them more convenient. Second, consolidating the department-created featurettes and moving them higher in the site tree is one of several steps we are pursuing to increase site load speed.

When will the Featurettes move?

Tuesday, October 21, 2008.
